a jQuery Mobile system and I couldn't pages to load with a standard link (e.g. Hello), it would always display the below error message. Error Loading Page The solution is really simple. You can't work with jquerymobile with the protocol file:// it has to be a web address. After moving it to a server, with protocol http:// it worked immediately. Todd Parker Hi all - This was an issue in Alpha 4, but in 4.1 this has now been http://doeswhat.com/2011/03/08/jquery-mobile-error-loading-page/ fixed. http://jquerymobile.com/2011/04/jquery-alpha-4-1-maintenance-release/ Cheers, Todd Mark Todd - I'm running the 1.0a4.1 release of jquery mobile along with jquery 1.5.1 and I'm still having this issue, very frustrating. I'm going to see if rolling back to jquery 1.4.4 will fix this… Mark Update: using different combos of script libraries old and new is giving mixed results across different browsers, rolling back to an old lib fixes an issue in one but breaks something in another. The issues are all revolving around href="something.html" and href="#something", cant seem to get them both working at the same time, in the same browser. Mark Update2: for anyone with similar issues you can simply add rel="external" into the anchor tag as an attribute, this will bypass the ajax transitions and allow the page to load without the error. http://sawmac.com Dave McFarland @mark By using rel="external" you bypass the AJAX part of the loading -- this means the page loads, but it's not injected into the DOM, and you bypass the handy "back" button that jQuery Mobile usually adds to the top of a page. I'm running into this problem with the jquery 1.5.1 and jq mobile a4.1. But if I update to 1.5.2 and a4.1 I can reference file paths. http://- jo @dave I'm having the same "error loading page" on jquery-1.5.2.min.js with jquery mobile a4.1 Most Popular Interview with Chris Cardell (Cardell Media) Interview with B
