I recently wanted to try running OSX86 on my Dimension 3000 desktop.I followed error loading operating system vista the newbie guide located here: http://wiki.osx86pro...DualBoot_10.5.2I chose this older one because the guide was very simple and easy to follow. So following the directions, I first hit one problem. I already had XP so I had to reformat my partition sizes to https://neosmart.net/wiki/error-loading-operating-system/ create a separate 25gb mac partition, taking memory from my NTFS XP partition. That went fine. In the installation though, I couldn't format the FAT32 partition and realized that it had to be set to "active" in windows disk management, so I did that. This allowed me to completely install osx 10.5.2 according to those directions. When I get to the part to use gparted, I get into the application and set my ntfs partition to "boot". Weird thing I saw there though http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179263-1052-kalyway-dual-boot-gparted-problems/ was that that partition was not mounted... I ignored this. When I restarted I get the error saying "Error loading Operating System" when trying to get into XP. I've tried almost everything and have been scouring the internet for forever, but to no avail.I did find this topic which posts the same problem:http://www.insanelym...howtopic=106850The user unfortunately did not post the solution, but just stated that he fixed it...I have tried using Windows Recovery Console to fix the boot problem, but that didn't do anything at all. I am new to this, and have no idea what to do.I've seen multiple topics like this, but I can't find a working solution If anyone can help, I would truly appreciate anything. Thanks so much Back to top #2 telir Posted 11 August 2009 - 07:02 PM telir InsanelyMac Protégé Members 13 posts Guys... I've tried everything I can think of. I set the boot flag on and off like 20 times, nothing changed. I tried setting my osx partition to boot, same error. I try loading the install disk for osx- I just get the installation screen. I even tried using all the fdisk options. I tried fixmbr, which did nothing. I can't find an achi (ahci?) setting in my bios setup. I'm pretty sure my windows partition is set to active, as I have the boot flag checked... I think it may have to do with an error with the bootloader. In gparted, my windows partition d
