Then it should work fine. After you install Ubuntu, remove your USB and pc should boot into the Ubuntu installed on your drive. share|improve this answer answered Jan 30 '13 at 11:35 tikend 5472520 Universal USB Installer can also be used to make bootable ubuntu usb, which is a tool prescribed in Ubuntu website. –TheKojuEffect Jan 30 '13 at 11:59 1 did you set up bios correctly? –tikend Jan 30 '13 at 13:02 8 My housemate suggested I try it in FAT32 format instead of NTFS and it worked right away –user127259 Jan 30 '13 at 18:01 2 of course. i forget to tell you this. usb will not boot from ntfs, only from fat32. –tikend Jan 31 '13 at 8:00 1 @user127259 please post your solution as an answer and mark it as the solution / best answer :) –Smile4ever May 23 '15 at 9:53 | show 8 more comments Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a gu

It still boots fine and I can log in on the console, but I can not move the mouse in xserver/xfce, wifi stopped working, and I have various other https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/442263-Error-Loading-Operating-System-after-11-3-fresh-install problems and errors when running commands, so I figured a reinstall would be easier. Now I followed the same steps as last time: put arch x86 netinstall on an empty 2GB FAT32 USB error loading stick, using the Unetbootin tool. But when I boot from USB (press escape during boot, select the USB drive instead of SSD, press enter), it just gives me a black screen with the text:Error loading operating systemWhen I look on the USB stick, it looks very normal, like an arch install medium usually looks. Thanks for any tips in advance! It even clearly says on the website "arch up to 2010.05"...Gonna try one of the alternative methods.(editing topic title --> solved) Last edited by Feroxium (2012-10-17 14:25
