First my bios didnt even post, so i borrowed some different RAM from my brother, then it started to work...and thats as far as it got. Now i get the "error loading operating http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/167685-31-error-loading-operating-system-upgrading-motherboard syster" message. I have Windows XP Pro, and have tried the auto repair function, but that didnt work. Then i tried installing windows to the boot sector on my secondary HDD, but the it tries to boot using some Nvidia Agent boot thing, and that doesnt work. So my question is: is there a way to make things work without having to reformat my harddrive, causing me to loose everything on there, especially my MY Documents folder. If anyone could help me, http://www.techimo.com/forum/technical-support/120677-new-motherboard-getting-error-loading-operating-system.html i would appreciate it so freaking much. Thanks in advance for any and all help. WinXP doesn't like it when you change chipsets. I would slave the hard drive to your brothers pc and save what you need then reformat it. Most likely if you have done a repair install of XP and reloaded your drivers and that didn't work, then you will have to format your hard drive. Started with a clean hard disk (no windows). When into the bio's, changed the start order to optical drive, put in a live CD with a complete installation on it. I was so surprised...worked straightaway. A list of fairly easy questions and the installation started. The computers old so it was fairly slow....I left it mumbling away to it's self for about 3/4 of an hour.....Everything worked I supposed as when I returned it said “Installation complete”. It said to remove the CD and restart, reset the bio's to the hard disk; restart again to boot from this disk for the first time. Here the problems started. First it said there was no keyboard attached...there was. After about twenty restarts I managed to get into the bio's start order list. I changed it to hard disk marked “C”...which I assumed held the operating system. Now the thing still won't start... you get a signal that the “keyboard cannot be found” or “Error loading operating system” or both. Any help would be most appreciated.
