Error validating access token: The session has been invalidated because the user has changed the password or because auth.expireSession was called. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5972901/getting-error-validating-access-token-from-facebook-for-some-users The workflow is as follows: Authorize with Facebook requesting scope=offline_access,publish_stream permissions (if the current user has not already authorized) Do some work on the server (takes 5-10 minutes) Attempt to publish to the user's Facebook stream This code works for many users, but for some users, I get the Error validating access token error. It started frequently happening a few weeks ago, then seemed to stop, and now happen a lot again. I'm certainly not calling auth.expireSession on my end, and it seems unlikely that multiple users would be changing their password in the 5-10 minute window from authorizing to publishing. Does anyone know what might be causing this? facebook facebook-graph-api facebook-oauth facebook-permissions facebook-stream-story share|improve this question edited Mar 15 at 21:16 Aminah Nuraini 2,0611326 asked May 12 '11 at 3:08 herbrandson 1,15011839 I'm not sure, but it maybe that the user "removed" the publish stream permission from your App? also it's always a good idea to update your access_token even if it's taken with offline_access. –ifaour May 12 '11 at 7:35 Are yo
a user's Facebook and Twitter account. It allows you to publish news of your blog posts and pages to the two social media platforms, as well as a few other features. One of my clients is a business called Charla-J Antiques. They run an http://www.djrxr6.com.au/social-plugin-wordpress-error-validating-access-token-session-expired/ ecommerce website which I created. I installed Social to connect their WordPress site with social http://www.nextscripts.com/support-faq/ media. When they add new products to their site, news about it is broadcast to their Facebook wall and Twitter feed. The client loves the feature, but every once in a while they run into a problem. The admins have come across the message “Error validating access token: Session has expired on…” when publishing new posts and products. When the error error validating occurs, they are not published to Facebook. I don’t know the specific details, but it seems that for Facebook to communicate with Social, it creates an access token. This is how the plugin can interact with the API (Application Programming Interface). The token has a limited lifespan it would seem, probably for security. The problem is overcome simply by reconnecting the plugin to Facebook. From the Dashboard, hover your mouse of the Settings item in the error validating access side menu. When the sub menu pops out, click on Social. You should now be at the settings page for Social. To fix the validation error, click the "Sign in with Facebook" button. A smaller window may appear prompting you to sign in to Facebook. No login window will appear If you are already signed in on another tab or window. The revalidation is now complete. To make sure it worked, edit one of your posts, pages or products that did not publish to Facebook before. Click the "Broadcast" button in the upper right hand side of the window. Click the checkbox for Facebook. Then click Broadcast. Finally, go to your Facebook page and confirm the post has been published.
