First, both redirect_uri paramaters to authorize and access_token must match. Apparently Facebook (or rather OAuth2) is using the redirect_uri as a internal key to encode the code returned for the access_toke

Got an OAuthException says “Error validating verification code” up vote 41 down vote favorite 15 I am using java and the purpose http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4386691/facebook-error-error-validating-verification-code of my demo application is simple: Update user status. I followed the Server-side Flow on page http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication. I got the auth dialog, facebook lead to the callback url and I got the code in my callback page. Then I failed when I try to generate an access token. In the guide page, it says the following url could be used to generated an access token: https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token? client_id=YOUR_APP_ID&redirect_uri=YOUR_URL& client_secret=YOUR_APP_SECRET&code=THE_CODE_FROM_ABOVE But what happens in my environment is I got http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5001692/unable-to-get-access-token-from-facebook-got-an-oauthexception-says-error-vali the following error message: { "error": { "type": "OAuthException", "message": "Error validating verification code." } } I am quite sure every parameter is correct because if I change the client_id value or client_secret parameter, I will got a different error message. The code parameter is what I got from facebook callback. So this should be correct, right? Really can't figure out what is the problem.... Any idea about this? I get stuck here... facebook token share|improve this question asked Feb 15 '11 at 9:16 DeepNightTwo 1,40042139 28 Resolved this by my self...The key problem is all about "URL". The callback "redirect_uri" in code generation url should also be the same as "redirect_uri" in the token generation url... –DeepNightTwo Feb 18 '11 at 14:28 1 Absolutely priceless. Thank you so much for that. –pdimitar Dec 8 '11 at 10:25 1 @DeepNightTwo thank you so much, that was perfect. –Peter Downs May 3 '12 at 22:20 1 This also helped me. Ridiculous it's not in the docs, i thought it had to be something different for it to redirect to after that step... –Steve-O-Rama May 30 '12 at 17:34 1 I am using the same uri, but its not working. By the way, I am using the redirect url with https, is that problem? –Masud Rahman Jul 23 '12 at 13:28 | show 2 more comments 7 Ans

After clicking the Facebook connect page says: The Facebook login could not be completed due to an error. Please create an account or contact us directly. Details about this error have already been recorded to the error log. Changing the code value had no effect. I'm hosted on IIS 6. Http requests outbound from the site definitely work. I'm able to draw XML feeds and other information from outside sources.
