When we checked on today, the error validating access token the user is enrolled in a blocking logged-in checkpoint developer dashboard doesn't show the app. And it doesn't even list the app name in the list of apps (left pane of the dashboard). When we checked the error_log in the server, the last message is: [15-Oct-2012 22:28:31 UTC] OAuthException: Error validating application. Application has been deleted. Why Facebook automatically deleted the app? Or is it due to some glitch in the Facebook server? How do we contact Facebook team to investigate about this? Or, creating a new app with the

Sometimes if the app is just sitting there without much hit on it, then also it is deleted as an inactive app. When an app is developed, it generates an unique id for the user, using which the app can be used. Are you sure that this app is not working it wherever you had previously embedded it ? If it's working, then it's quite possible they have move it to some other place, without hampering your application . –The Dark Knight Oct 16 '12 at 11:33 1 But it was a popular app. He just checked the mail and found that there was notification saying the app has been restricted. I can go weeks without seeing it, then all of a sudden it will come up. The solution? You can wait it out. It throws this error for about 15 minutes then you can refresh and it will allow you to continue with what you were doing. My question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9060336/error-validating-access-token is, is this an issue on my end? Or is this a Facebook issue? This is a Facebook connect page if that helps. I did research and found out it could be caused from the FQL query. But then wouldn't it be consistent at least? It seems like it is completely random. Here is my FQL query anyway just in case. $facebook->api(array('method' => 'fql.query','query' => "SELECT first_name,middle_name,last_name,email,affiliations FROM user WHERE uid=".$user)); Here are lines 1052-1071 of Base_Facebook, protected function throwAPIException($result) { $e = new FacebookApiException($result); switch ($e->getType()) { // OAuth 2.0 Draft 00 style case 'OAuthException': // OAuth 2.0 Draft 10 style case 'invalid_token': // REST server errors are just Exceptions case 'Exception': $message = $e->getMessage(); if ((strpos($message, 'Error validating access token') !== false) || (strpos($message, 'Invalid OAuth access token') !== false)) { $this->setAccessToken(null); $this->user = 0; $this->clearAllPersistentData(); } } throw $e; } Thank you error-handling facebook share|improve this question asked Jan 30 '12 at 6:51 Tanner 601211 1 This is definetely a Facebook bug. –brainondev Jun 11 '12 at 16:53 I'd like to add that, this error also occurs if a user has deactivated their account. –Chris Dec 26 '12 at 6:43 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote accepted As written in How-To: Handle expired access tokens (link is broken) developers blog post Access tokens for users can become invalid due

Mar 24, 2015 09:19 AM|ashish_sourav11|LINK I am trying to post on my Facebook fan page using Facebooh Graph API. To do this I am using extended Page access token. I was able to post my contents on Facebook, but the moment I logged out from error validating access administrator account and tried posting the contents on my Fan Page I am getting this error. Please guide me how can I resolve this issue? To get Extended Page Access token I have followed these processes- 1. Created an FB App to get AppID and AppSecret. 2. Headed over to Facebook Graph API Explorer 3. On the top right in "Application" I have selected my app which I have created. 4. Clicked on Get Access Token Button 5. Added "manage_pages" permission. 6. Converted short-lived access token into a long lived one by making this Graph API https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=MYID&client_secret=MYSECRET&grant_type=fb_exchange_token&fb_exchange_token=SHORT LIVED TOKEN 7. Grabbed new long lived access token returned back. Now I am using this long lived access token in my code. Please guide me how can I resolve this issue.
