have no idea what StiSvc is or how to fix the problem. I've rebooted 3 times and get the same message each time. StiSvc is apparently part of either the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) system service or the Still Image Service."The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) system service provides image acquisition services for scanners and cameras. This service is not a requirement for the baseline server policy." Presumably don't have either of those items connected, but have you tried your camera maybe? Either way, you should be able to stop it by going to: Start > Programs > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Look for Windows Image Acquisition service in the list. Double-click the entry the Properties dialog opens. On the General tab check that the Startup Type is set to Disabled. Proposed as answer by
