But I am very concerned that event id 1003 something is about to happen. I checked the ‘event viewer’ a while back and noticed there was an ongoing issue. --- Type: Warning…Source: Dhcp…Event I.D.:1003... Description: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 000874BAF9F6. The following error occurred: The semaphore timeout period has expired. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server. Initially I ignored these “warnings”, but they “now” appear a “LOT”. Sometimes ten in a row. Anytime of day or night. I’m mainly concerned that either something is going out or that there is some kind of infection. I decided to reformat today, its been a little while since I last did one, and the “warnings” are still there. Did a Google search but it got confusing so I gave up. There have not been any “other” errors or warnings in event viewer for a very long time. I have run various anti ‘stuff’ with no success, Malwarebytes being one. I used to have Zone Alarm Free but now I only use Windows Firewall. Dell Dimension 2350, 2.0 Ghz, Windows XP Pro, SP3, 1GB, Cable Modem, all windows updates, Microsoft Security Essentials. Thanks in advance for any assistance, Eddie . DDS (Ver_2011-08-26.01) - NTFSx86 Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702 Run by Administrator at 19:30:55 on 2011-12-15 Microsoft Windows X

I recently started to get warnings pop up in the Windows Event Viewer which causes me to have a mini disconnects multiple times a day.I am using Windows 7 SP1 64 bit (if it matters). The warning is as follows:Level: WarningSource: Dhcp-ClientEvent ID: 1003Task Category: Address Configuration State EventGeneral: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0xLAN_MAC_HERE. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.Every time I get this warning, exactly 30 minutes after it I disconnect for a few seconds. Then generally exactly 1 hour after I get the originally warning, I may get another one, in which exactly 30 minutes after that I disconnect again. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it starts happening it generally happens for at least a few times in a row.I tried disabling IPv6 and swapping out my ethernet cable. The error started about 3 weeks ago roughly (before that I never had this issue). After about 2 weeks of having the issue and being unable to solve it, I formatted my computer. After formatting my computer the problem disappeared completely for about 5 days, and so far has been reappearing for the last 2 days.I thought It was my router or something else causing it but my brother's computer never gets this problem (and I never used to).Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? I haven't installed anything in the last few days as well. I basically installed everything on the first or second day after formatting. So
