Another series of disk checks from the CD didn't come up with anything. After rebooting to Windows, the disk was just fine.Any idea what might be causing something like this? The disk is less than a year old and I doubt XP can find errors with it that Western Digital cannot. Thanks in advance for any hints. norton_I Ars Praefectus Registered: Apr 30, 2001Posts: 3785 Posted: Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:02 am Paging may also mean demand loading of executables or dlls.chkdsk normally only checks filesystem layout, but I would expect the WD utilities to notice any genuine error. Did you run a complete surface scan with at least one of those utilities?Checked SMART status?Have you checked your cables? A loose or faulty cable could explain why the disk tools didn't pick up the errors, and wh
