It is the domain controller, dns server, and dhcp server. Occasionally at boot up I get https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc774611(v=ws.10).aspx errors in the DNS event log. Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-4011-source-DNS-eventno-483-phase-1.htm with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-help/26120-dns-error-event-id-4011-a.html still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. All my DNS serves are Domain Controllers in a 2003 AD environment. As far as I can tell no immediate problems are occurring, but the error is troubling. Replication is still happening and we can add items (users/computers) to the domain without a hitch. Here is the error. The DNS server was unable to add or write an update of domain name
