What is the role of Userenv? Comments: Anonymous I opened the registry and found that this registry entry was empty. I exported the registry as as safety factor, removed all entries of the DllName and the problem was fixed. x 59 Scott Entry: 7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE. Windows 2003 R2 32-bit Terminal Server. Release version of IE8 had previously been installed and then uninstalled. After the IE uninstall errors began appearing in the Application event log. From a TechArena forum post (link below), I resolved the problem using the suggested method of searching + deleting registry entries. I had two class numbers that were registering this error message. Both class numbers were located in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{respective class number here} Once these registry entries were deleted errors stopped being recorded in the event log. x 121 EventID.Net The long number in the event description is a GUID and it can be used to identify the program associated with it. Using the Registry Editor (Start, Run, regedit), search for the GUID in the registry. Depending on what program is found to be tied to the GUID, different troubleshooting procedures should be followed. One possible approach is to uninstall and reinstall that program. I tried to hold off for a migration tool, but could not wait any longer. Anyway. I have everything working except for I get these http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-1041-source-Userenv-eventno-3641-phase-1.htm few errors in reguards to our Power Schema GPO. Turns out the PolicyMaker CSE's were not all removed by the GPP CSE patch. I found several in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions that were for PolicyMaker. Fix was really easy just create a GPP GPO that deletes the old keys. These are the ones I found causing errors so far. After they are removed the errors stop. I also checked to make sure they were not part of the GPP CSE's by installing the CSE patch on a clean box, and checking to see if they were there. They were not so I am sure its safe to remove them. There might also be some in the HKCU hive also, but those don't seem to cause the Event ID Error.{F0DB2806-FD46-45B7-81BD-AA3744B32765}{F17E8B5B-78F2-49A6-8933-7B767EDA5B41}{F27A6DA8-D22B-4179-A042-3D715F9E75B5}{F581DAE7-8064-444A-AEB3-1875662A61CE}{F648C781-42C9-4ED4-BB24-AEB8853701D0}{F6E72D5A-6ED3-43D9-9710-4440455F6934}{FD2D917B-6519-4BF7-8403-456C0C64312F}{FFC64763-70D2-45BC-8DEE-7ACAF1BA7F89} Marked as answer by yaplej Thursday, January 22, 2009 9:54 PM Thursday, January 22, 2009 9:21 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Well I figured it out finally.
