Cayenne Aug 2, 2012 C.J. Moore Construction, 101-250 Employees This is due to an installation file failing. In order to get more information about the failure of the installer bring up a cmd and type in: msiexec.exe /i product.msi /l* c:\log file name.txt It will go through the installer as normal but will create a log file that you can look at. Message: Product: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 -- Installation failed. Solution by EventLog Doctor 2005-08-20 21:29:01 UTC We got this event when trying to install the latest Java runtime engine on a Windows Server 2003 running Terminal Services while connected remotely through RDP. Even though we were logged in as an Administrator, we got the popup "Only administrators have permission to add, remove, or configure server software during a Terminal services remote session. If you want to install or configure software on the server, contact your network administrator." To resolve this error, create the following registry value: Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer Name: EnableAdminTSRemote Type: DWORD Value: 1 You should then be able to install the package. Apparently, some MSI packages suffer from this problem and need this registry value to be present and set to 1. Solution by Anonymous 2007-09-09 17:58:15 UTC Thanks! That worked perfectly... Solution by Anonymous 2009-09-16 23:42:49 UTC Thanks this worked for me as well! Weird...
