However, there’s another type of data loss that’s much more mysterious, and potentially a lot more frustrating—the lost delayed-write data error. How would you feel if your system were running perfectly, and then you received a message stating that the system had simply lost your data? No explanation, no apologies; just a message bluntly telling you that your data is gone for good and that you’d better have a backup. In this Daily Drill Down, I’ll discuss what a lost delayed-write data error is, and how to prevent it or recover from it.Lost delayed-write data errors occur in the write phaseThe first time that I ever saw a delayed-write data failure, I was baffled. After all, hard disks have been around a long time and are a fairly mature technology. I wondered how a system that’s working perfectly one moment could just suddenly start losing data. I was able to complete configurtion and shared drives and folders. This app requires for the stations to run to be mapped to the apps main folder. I was event id 50 able to do all the mappings and run the app flawlessly, but inside the apps main folder there is a folder that holds scanned documents for many clients(about 2Gb of images) . Whenever we try to access or browse that folder (either by browsing thruogh the mapped drive or by the app) , the computer losses conection with the server . Actually when this happens it is the server that becomes blocked and cannot be accessed through the network, also it losses conection to the internet even though that network connection shows as connected. The whole situation is not recoverable until we do a server restart.
