User Profile synchronization is not working in SharePoint server 2007, Event id 5555 Thursday, January 21
message was A duplicate site ID MyDatabaseGUIDwas found. This might be caused by restoring a content database from one server farm into a different server farm without first removing the original database and then running stsadm -o preparetomove. If this is the cause the stsadm -o preparetomove command can be used with the -OldContentDB command line option to resolve this issue. Hello to all, Why this problem happens? Usuay because someone detaches the content database of your website with out preparing sharepoint for this operation. if you dont prepare sharepoint for this operation the GUID of your database will still be stored on the ConfigurationDB of Sharepoint and when the sync job runs it will try to synchronize this database… it will fail and you will get the 5555 error. To do this operation properly it is quite simple: Prepare stsadm -o preparetomove -site http://mysite.com -oldcontentdb MyDatabaseGUID (you can find out your database guid with SPManager for example) Detach stsadm -o deletecontentdb -url http://mysite.com -databaseserver MyDatabaseServerName -databasename MyContentDBName If you use this process you will not have the 5555 error on your event viewer. How to solve the problem? Ok, you already have the problem… its really quite simple to fix. Just run: stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases 0 This will give you all the content databases that have not been synchronized since 0(zero) days. Your database is out of sync since X(for example 10) days(it is not even there anymore since you removed it so it can't be synchronized) and all the other content databases should be synchronized. (snyc job usually runs every hour.) So finally to fix the problem just run stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 9 This will delete all the GUIDs of the content databases that have not been syncronized in more than 9 days from the configuration database. Problem Solved😉 Like this:Like Loading... 08/10/2009 - Posted by lmpalves | Sharepoint, stsadm No comments yet. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
