servers all experiencing event ID 5719 after booting, the servers are joined to the domain, and can logon fine. I can restart the netlogon service with no errors after the servers are up.I found the following kb article has anyone else had event id 5719 there are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. this issue: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/938449 Saturday, October 17, 2009 6:43 PM Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi Arkturas, Thank you for your upload. Please try the below steps to see whether it resolves the issue. 1. Follow KB 244474 How to force Kerberos to use TCP instead of UDP in Windows http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;244474 2. Made netlogon service to depend on network connections: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon DependOnService = Netman 3. Disable the Spanning Tree Algorithm feature of your Ethernet switch. Set the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters ExpectedDialupDelay = 180KB 202840 A client connected to an Ethernet switch may receive several logon-related error messages during startup http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;202840 4. Reboot the server, Check the event log again. Hope it helps. Best Regards, Wilson Jia This posting is provided "AS IS" wi

network issues or name resolution (DNS/WINS) issues. Network devices (Switches/Routers/Firewalls) on the way are also on the list ofprime suspects behind Netlogon 5719 events. That includes the NIC drivers on both the client logging the https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/044e57eb-47a4-4988-92b5-faa68ad58025/netlogon-error-5719-windows-server-2008-r2-64bit?forum=windowsserver2008r2general event and DC's it is trying to reach.
If this is being logged on a DC andthe eventrefers to the DC'sown domain, something might be preventing the client component of Netlogon from starting a network session (to itself or to another DC in the domain). Since this is a client component error, port exhaustion can be one possible cause. If this is referring to remote trusted or trusting https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/instan/2008/09/18/netlogon-5719-and-the-disappearing-domain-controller/ domains then connectivity and name resolution for those domains need to be investigated further. Less frequently, this is caused by a resource leak on the machine logging the event or the target DC(s) it is trying to talk to. If you're only seeing Netlogon 5719 at startup then the portthe machine is connected to on your switch may not be fully up when Netlogon starts.Netlogon is otherwise apatient client component andwill retry again 2 mins after the initial failure and every now and then after that until it is able to reach a DC. On the other hand, Applications that are relying on Netlogon having domain connectivity when they start might fail as a result ifthey aren't handling sporadic network outages properly.Netlogon can be configured to increase the time it waits for the DC to respond by using the ExpectedDialUpDelay registry key. not longer authenticating to the DC (server 2003). From the server that is not authenticating, I can ping the DC, RDP to the DC, and access network shares from the DC. When I run echo %localhost%, it shows the correct DC. When I run netdom query dc, it says "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted." I have reset the server password using netdom. Still no change. One of the odd things that is happening is when I try to create a new SQL login (this is my sql server), it shows the domain as well as the members when I browse for username. When I select the user, it does not fill the information into the box. August 28th, 2012 1:42pm Paul, Can you verify that you still have a DNS Record for the server that is having issues authenticating to the DC? Is the DNS Service running on the server? Is the Workstation Service Running on the server? Do you have any Kerberos error messages? Did someone accidently reset the server's computer object in Active Directory? Did you add/enable a firewall on the system? Check to see if the Windows Advanced Firewall turned itself on. -Brenton Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now August 28th, 2012 1:51pm DNS is running on the DC. There is a single DNS record in the DNS service for both the system in question and the DC (and dns is resolving correctly on the system in question). Workstation service is runninng on the server in question. There are no Kerberos error messages. The server's computer object in AD is still present and looks like it has not been changed. The windows firewall is off and no other security software is installed on this system.
