Error 6006 Winlogon
Contents |
Now Hi guys, Â I am having trouble with my own work comp here - however it seems to be more related to my winlogon 6006 gpclient createsession profile or something. My logons in the morning take approx 15-25mins to logon, event 6006 winlogon gpclient logoffs are slightly shorter at around 15-20mins. Event Viewer shows me the following; The winlogon notification subscriber

drivers on logon, but I can't see why. The problem seems to just apply to me, regardless of where I log on. I am running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and the domain server is Windows Server 2003 Standard. Note, that I have also tried logging onto Windows XP Pro clients as that's what the bulk of users here are on, same problem.  Thanks very much in advance guys. his Windows 7 laptop could take over two minutes. While my first instinct said, "well that isn't that bad" we did look into it a bit. This user works remotely exclusively. So http://jdbausch.blogspot.com/2011/04/slow-logon-with-windows-7-and-winlogon.html even though their machine is a domain member, they are never on our physical https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/3a1jpm/domain_logonlogoff_delay_with_one_profile/ network.Their machine would produce 2 application event log warnings:Event 6005, Winlogon:The winlogon notification subscriber is taking a long time to handle the notification event (Logon).ANDEvent 6006, Winlogon:The winlogon notification subscriber took XXX second(s) to handle the notification event (Logon). We were able to reproduce this on test machines, but only on networks other than our production LAN. event id Booting the machine with NO network (no ethernet and wifi disabled) did not produce the issue. Booting on our production LAN the systems booted quickly and warning free.It turns out the problem was that our domain user accounts are set with a home folder map (in our case H:\) to a network share.Going in to AD Users and Computers on a DC, user properties, profile tab, and setting the "Home folder" event id 6006 option to "local path" (which is blank) resolved the issue for us.Of course, we are not doing this for everyone, as most users appreciate having a mapped H: drive, And while there are other ways to get this done, this way works best for us. The machine had a static IP and we had since changed both DNS servers. August 21, 2015 at 12:04:00 PM PDT Silvia Jacinto said... I really love your blog there's a lot to share.
