Sign in to vote I have come across a user having a problem with a faint white event id 1000 faulting application screen coming over their whole screen with the "Not Responding" error on top of the current open window above the address bar. This error freezes the user's PC from 30 exception code: 0xc0000005 seconds to 1 minute. This error seems to happen while the user is only working within Microsoft Office applications, mostly within Microsoft Project (That is the main application that this user works with everyday). I have looked into the user's PC and they are not running extra programs in the background or services that would bog down the PC overall. The even viewer log error details are as follows: Faulting application name: WINPROJ.EXE, version 11.3.2007.1529, time stamp 0x465bf9b1 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16915, time stamp: 0x4ec49caf Exception code: 0xc0000374 Fault Offset: 0x000c33bb Faulting process id: 0xaf4 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdb9007f27256f Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINPROJ.EXE Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: e4b8f6b6-24f3-11e2-a1e6-b499bae70793 Log Name: Application - Source: Application Error - Event ID: 1000 - Level: Error - User: N/A - Logged: (Today) - Task Category - (100) - Keywords: Classic - Computer: (Computer name.network. . .) The user goes into his Microsoft Project open project and makes some changes, highlights some cells and goes to make some changes and then the faint white screen comes up with the "Not Responding" screen appears. Some background information. This problem happens both on wireless and docked plugged into the LAN. Our user's have a network drive (home drive) located about two blocks away at my location. This problem is not specific to accessing information only on the network drive though, already tried that scenar

For no apparent reason whilst i am browsing the internet, on firefox, many of the applications 'stop working' and close. Including windows explorer, which is a bit frustrating. I just use the 'run' function in taskmanager to start explorer again and then everything goes back to how it was. Alps pointing device also stops and the scroll function doesn't work thereafter until the computer is restarted. I have just changed the theme to classic to save battery life. It seems to happen at least once every time i use the laptop and at no particular time or webpage. I h my VMware Virtual Center Server service is stopping thus failing my Veeam Backup and Replica jobs. When I traced event log, I found hereunder application error: Faulting application name: vpxd.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x56deb11d Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.3.9600.18202, time stamp: 0x569e7eb1 Exception code: 0xe06d7363 Fault offset: 0x0000000000008a5c Faulting process ID: 0x64a8 Faulting application start time: 0x01d1938641b516fd Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\VMware\vCenter Server\vpxd\vpxd.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll Report ID: e85b22f0-00dc-11e6-80e7-005056000012 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: If I then start the service manually from services.msc, everything continues to work fine. Is application faulting because of something in Windows, or is it related to VMware issue? Edited by Ronald Mercieca 3 hours 30 minutes ago April 13th, 2016 7:19am vpxd.exe is the virtual center service executable so I think your issue is with VMware. https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2013086&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&dialogID=51966117&stateId=1 0 61700968 Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now April 13th, 2016 7:42pm Hi, According to your description, my understanding is that VMware Virtual Center Server service is stopping thus failing Veeam Backup and Replica jobs on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. If the problem happened from the beginning of installation, I would recommend you to confirm the compatibility. And, this is the problem mainly about vCentre Server 6 Update 2 (Build 3634793), a third-party product which is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. I would recommend you to contact the products supporter/official website for further confirmation. Best Regards, Eve Wang April 14th, 2016 2:06am Hi both, Thank you for your replies. NO, the problem DID NOT happen from the beginning of version 6installation or after update 2. I never experienced this issue before, and the problem occurred for the first time after some Windows Updates were install
