I have looked on the MS site but the 0xd error isn't listed. The full error i get is: Security policies were propagated with warning. 0xd : The data is invalid. I have configured the GPOs and created different OUs for the machines to go into. The GPOs have http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/22764-group-policy-error-0xd-data-invalid-event-id-1202-a.html been linked to the GPOs. And the one in question (the admin one of all things) has the same GPOs linked to it as the classroom machines GPO. As these have already pulled the GPO permissions from the AD it suggests that there is nothing wrong with the GPO settings. What could be causing this problem? I have already tried the folloing commands from a site: Code: esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb followed by the gpupdate /force. The post says to check to make sure that the SceCLi policies are applied successfully in the event viewer but they aren't. The error would point to a possible file corruption and/or network connectivity issue downloading and processing policies. Have you tried running Scandisk just to be sure? In an ideal situation re-imaging the workstation would be the quickest solution. Send PM

Posted on 2011-07-01 Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Windows Server 2008 1 Verified Solution 20 Comments 2,746 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-11 I was event id going through some event logs on the domain controllers, and I noticed that I am getting an Event 1202 (SceCi) every 5 minutes, and/or upon gpupdate. I have a parent domain, and 2 child domains. the issue is only happening on Domain Controllers on Child Domains. I have followed KB250454 and KB256000, but I am not sure if these apply. I looked on DC from all 3 domains, and non of them have the event id 7016 basicdc.inf template in the C:\Windows\Security, and yet, the DCs in the parent domain are not getting this warning. From the articles, it sounds like the environment variables for SYSVOL, DSLOG and DSDIT are required because the basidc template refers to them. At this point I'm at a loss as to what to try, or where to look to troubleshoot. For the record, I do have a couple of accounts that are in the parent domain, that are currently pointing to the child domains in restricted groups, which cause the following warning in winlogon.log ----Configure Group Membership... No system mapping was found for CVUSD\APP_Dameware_Viewer. No system mapping was found for CVUSD\CMP_WSA_Access. No system mapping was found for CVUSD\dAdmins. No system mapping was found for CVUSD\Domain Admins. Configure STUDENT\Administrator. Group Membership configuration was completed with one or more errors. I know how to fix this part, but I haven't yet, as it's going to require some work, to establish new ACLs to map these same groups within their own domain. That said, i'm not sure that this is related to the other warnings. rsop on the DCs is returning on the "Computer Configuration", with the same message as the one found in the eventviewer. Any ideas to help resolve this problem? It doesn't seem to having any adverse effects on the func

For best results in resolving this event, log on with a non-administrative account and search http://support.microsoft.com for "Troubleshooting Event 1202's". A user account in one or more Group Policy objects (GPOs) could not be resolved to a SID. This error is possibly caused by a mistyped or deleted user account referenced in either the User Rights or Restricted Groups branch of a GPO. To resolve this event, contact an administrator in the domain to perform the following actions: 1. Identify accounts that could not be resolved to a SID: From the command prompt, type: FIND /I "Cannot find" %SYSTEMROOT%\Security\Logs\winlogon.log The string following "Cannot find" in the FIND output identifies the problem account names. Example: Cannot find JohnDough. In this case, the SID for username "JohnDough" could not be determined. This most likely occurrs because the account was deleted, renamed, or is spelled differently (e.g. "JohnDoe"). 2. Use RSoP to identify the specific User Rights, Restricted Groups, and Source GPOs that contain the problem accounts: a. Start-> Run-> MMC.Exe b. From the File Menu, select "Add/Remove Snap-in" c. From the "Add/Remove Snap-in" dialog box select "Add" d. In the "Add Standalone Snap-in" dialog box selec
