their 'discussion forums' that's it's hard to tell. Too bad we couldn't go back to the days of msnews... Anyway, I'm running Server 2008 R2 and when the virtual machine is started I always get this error message; Event ID 1067: "The terminal server cannot register 'TERMSRV' Service Principal Name

to be used for server authentication. The following error occured: The remote procedure call failed." This message only occurs on this one machine and it is running Forefront TMG 2010. I've seen the KB articles (no need to offer up a Google search as the answer!) but cannot seem to get my head around it. If anyone understands what this error means and how to address it I would sure appreciate some help with it. Thanks! Q: Marking a question as answered when it's not - is this something new? A: Not at all, it's standard Nick Gu! The following error occured: The RPC server is unavailable. .Data formatted as » EventDataThe RPC server is unavailable. This error suggests that the computer is able to locate a domain controller, but is not able to register the SPN against it. You might not need to worry about this error, if the SPN exists. To check this, use the setspn.exe utility: C:\Windows\System32>setspn -Q TERMSRV/LON-TS99 CN=LON-TS99,CN=Computers,DC=EXAMPLE,DC=com WSMAN/LON-TS99 WSMAN/LON-TS99.EXAMPLE.com TERMSRV/LON-TS99 TERMSRV/LON-TS99.EXAMPLE.com HOST/LON-TS99 HOST/LON-TS99.EXAMPLE.com Existing SPN found! Here, we can see that the TERMSRV SPN already exists for LON-TS99. If no SPN were to be returned, we could attempt to register it using setspn -R TERMSRV/LON-TS99.
