Solved Event Forwarder Event ID 111 Posted on 2012-10-29 Windows Server 2008 Windows OS 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 1,336 Views Last Modified: 2014-05-27 I have configured a Windows Server 2008 R2 Event Collector in our Domain. It is a stand alone server. I have event id 2 Windows 7 laptops setup for testing this. So far I have collected events from both laptops to the Forwarded Events Log on the Collector. The subscriptions are Source Initiated. The events that are trying to be collected are from the System Logs of both laptops and Group Policy and General Errors. However all that comes to the Collector are Event ID 111 and not the specific events that were requested. I have searched Microsoft and event id 111 generally the Internet and no one seems to have an answer to this question as of yet. thanks 0 Question by:kopp3162 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bykopp3162 OK the end fix for us was to move the Event Collector to Server 2008 not Server 2008R2. we could not get it to work on the R2 but it works just fine on 2008. thanks for the help. This is most likely caused by your computer running out of available resources. Restart the DNS Server service from services.msc on the server. If the service status does not change to Started, you may need to reboot the computer to resolve the issue. Even if the status has changed to Started, you should check the Microsoft Windows event log for any events relating to DNS server that have been logged at or since the time you restarted the service. If any DNS server error events have been logged, you should reboot your computer in an attempt to resolve the issue. 0 LVL 60 Overall: Level 60 Windows Server 2008 17 Windows OS 11 Message Active today Expert Comment
Guest, Apr 4, 2005. Guest Guest I'm running a test terminal server, fully configured by a loopback GPO. Last week I tested the folder redirection option but found it was not what I wanted, so I disabled it again. I have about 5 users that are piloting the terminal server. When one of the users connects, the terminal server gives an event id 111: Event Type: Error Event Source: Folder Redirection Event Category: None Event ID: 111 Description: Unable to apply folder redirection policy, initialization failed. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. followed by an event id 1085: Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1085 Description: The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. This user did not connect to the terminal server during the period I tested the folder redirection. This morning I removed the users local profile on the terminal server to resolve some other problems I was having. Brgd, Kid Kooijmans Guest, Apr 4, 2005 #1 Advertisements Vera Noest [MVP] Guest When you edit the Folder Redirection settings (at least in GP Management Console), it starts with this warning: Any existing redirection will continue to apply even when this Group Policy object is removed. To ensure that the folder is redirected back to the default location, select the "Redirect to the local userprofile location" option. And on the settings tab, there is a special section called "Policy Removal", which let you choose between "Leave the folder in the new location when the policy is removed" and "Redirect the folder back to the local userprofile location when policy is removed" I assume that you selected "leave the folder"? -- Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server http://hem.fyristorg.com/vera/IT --- please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email --- "=?Utf-8?B?S2lkIEtvb2lqbWFucw==?=" <> wrote on 04 apr 2005 in microsoft.public.win2000.termserv.apps: > I'm running a test terminal server, fully configured by a > loopback GPO.
