does not receive this error I have verified all Security Configuration/Service Accounts, verified all Services on Server/Search accounts, Stopped/Restarted all search, and verified SSP accounts. The last thing I did was verify there was an indexer attached to the SSP... I set the diagnostic logging to verbose and the only thing that stood out around the time of the error was System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid object event 2424 sharepoint name 'AR_CacheCounters'. SqlError: 'Invalid object name 'AR_CacheCounters'.' Source: '.Net SqlClient Data Provider' Number: 208 State: 1 Class: 16 Procedure: 'proc_ar_GetCacheInvalidationCountersWithCount' LineNumber: 3 Server: 'SERVER' Any suggestions? Under Manage this Farm's Shared Services Edit Default SSP properties At the bottom of the page lists "process accounts with access to this SSP" My search service account and content account account (same) was listed... Home | Sharepoint Search Stopped Working: Event ID: 2436 Event ID: 2424 Comments (3) | Share The Technology: WSS 3.0 running on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, Service Pack 2. The Issue: Sharepoint search stops working, for no apparent reason. Some Clues: At the scheduled time when the Search is supposed to be updating, the following entries are made in the Event Viewer under Application: Sharepoint Event ID: 2436 Type: Warning Category: Gatherer “cannot be crawled. Context: Application 'Search index file on the search server', Catalog 'Search' Details: Access is denied. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled. So I kept searching. The thing that finally got the search working adding a registry key to disable the loopback check, which I found at. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861 1. Set the DisableStrictNameChecking registry entry to 1.
