Join Now Hi There, We're running a Windows 2008 R2 Server (Standard) as a file server & backup server. I noticed within the event viewer under Server Roles > File Server that once a week there are a few instances of the following Error: Source: NTFS Event ID: 55 The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \Device\vstor2-mntapi10-shared-DEB5F7CB000050060000000002000000. The problem is that I do not recognize that volume. I've done some googling around to see what the might be & it seems that volume may have something to do with VMWARE? The system does backup a couple Virtual machines via Backup Exec 2012 & at one time had the Hyper V role installed but was later removed. I have run chkntfs on my C: & E drives & it came back not dirty Any Ideas? Is the error occurs on a fixed time every time? And is there more drives other than C: and E: on the server? The error looks like it tried to access a non-existent storage. And since it happens once a week, that sounds like it's related to a backup job. 0 Poblano OP andywhisenant Aug 15, 2012 at 3:17 UTC Pretty close to a fixed time with the exeption of the last one. Happens on Saturdays at 2:20 AM give or take a minute. the most recent one was at 2:14 PM on 8/11. I think i need to dig a little deeper. 0 Cayenne OP C.J.
