the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I am getting this error on a Windows XP SP3 machine. Have seen it in event log of this machine for a long time, but there were not any noticeable problems so https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc735656(v=ws.10).aspx looking for root cause was somewhat academic and not a priority. Now, there seem to be way more of these. IE - Where I was seeing a few clusters of 4 or 5 of these per day, now there >25 per hour for hours at a time, then none. Looks to happen when browsing network shares, etc. Tried a different switch port and we are not using the anti-virus products most often mentioned when searching for this error. Are there other things this could https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/192819-event-id-6004-a-driver-packet-received-from-the-i-o-subsystem-was-invalid be other than network card on the blink? Any ideas? I'm afraid i don't know what causes it, but I have had to re-install this server as I had numerous other problems (blocked access event id 6004 to Global Policy files, blocked user logon, blocked access to shared files) which i think are NOD32 v3 related, as seen in other threads on here. I have only seen it on PC's were V3 has been installed, but they don't have any problems accessing the network or any resources only this Event ID: 6004 appearing in the event log. I was hoping Eset could shed some light on the matter. Dan dwood, Jan 30, 2008 #3 dwood Registered Member Joined: Jan 11, 2005 Posts: 92 This is the response I got from Eset. Not really much help since

Servers are all the same, Windows 2008 R2 16GB RAM running on a VMWare system. I got a master server where the database is running, a server with webinterface installed and 3 XenApp server. On my citrix1 server all applications run without any problems, on my citrix2 and citrix3 server every now and then (lets say 2 of 5 times) i start a application and the citrix reciever client starts connecting, it takes a while and almost then when the application should start nothing happens. Already installed the latest hotfixes and also some windows patches that are recommended. eventlog server citrix2 and citrix3Event ID: 6001Description:The winlogon notification subscriber
