Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-8019-source-NTBackup-eventno-2819-phase-1.htm entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is http://kb.eventtracker.com/evtpass/evtpages/EventId_8019_NTBackup_45736.asp a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the event id servers. read more... English: This information is only available to subscribers. An example of English, please! Comments: EventID.Net This issue can occur because the VSS system files are not registered. See ME940032 for information on how to solve this problem. This behavior can occur because the Volume Shadow Copy service places Exchange Server 2003 in a event id 8019 "backup in progress" state, causing the Exchange Server 2003 online backup streaming API to fail to bind to the databases. See WITP83665 for information on fixing this problem. See ME841143 and ME953871 for additional information about this event. x 10 Peter Van Gils Update ME817688 cannot be installed on Windows 2003 SP1 systems since the hotfix is already incorporated into SP1. If your event log shows this error together with NTBackup error 8001, solve that error first by installing hotfix ME822132. x 13 Alan Burton I was getting this EventID 8019 and 8001 in my event log. I found that KB article 817688 discuses my issue. I have installed the fix and the problem has not reappeared since. x 11 EventID.Net This issue occurs if your Exchange Server 2003 database files are located on the same drive as the Windows Server 2003 operating system. operation is completed.Resolution :No user action is required.According to News group :This event is self-explanatory. This event ID started to appear on computers running Windows XP SP2 at the start of NTBACKUP when backing up the System State data. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAUSE: This issue occurs if your Exchange Server 2003 database files are located on the same drive as the Windows Server 2003 operating system. This issue occurs because there is a limitation of the NTBackup program. When the Exchange Server 2003 databases are on the system drive, and you perform a System State backup, the Exchange Server 2003 storage group is frozen during the System State backup operation. Because of this, the streaming backup of the Exchange Server 2003 databases cannot start. You cannot perform two simultaneous backups on the same storage group. WORKAROUND: To work around this issue, use one of the following methods. Method 1: Perform Separate Backup Operations Configure separate backup operations for the System State and the Exchange Server 2003 databases. After the System State backup is complete, the storage group is unfrozen and may be backed up successfully. Method 2: Move the Exchange Server 2003 Database Files Move the Exchange Server 2003 databases to a drive other than the operating system drive. This permits you to back up both the Exchange Server 2003 databases and the System State information at the same time.
