fun... I did the usual stuff. I asked Dr. Google of course. I tried permissions. I tried re-shares. I checked FRS and DFS and many other TLAs along the https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/795ce312-3b48-4685-9a3a-f2f02f3a9e57/group-policy-processing-error-event-id-1030?forum=winserverGP way. Nothing. From the 2x domain controllers, I could access the \\server\sysvol\domain\policies stuff just fine. I could also access the \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies stuff. No problems. But, from domain joined servers/computers, it was a no go. I could get to \\server\sysvol\domain but it was empty. Same with \\domain\sysvol\domain - empty. Finally, I dropped to a command prompt and found this Do http://www.darylhunter.me/blog/2011/06/solved-group-policy-gptini-event-id-1058-1030.html you see it? No, I don't mean my horrible "coloring job" - I mean the Junction pointing to C:\Winnt\path... Really? WINNT? What decade is this? Anyway, without trying to figure out who/what/why, I simply removed that junction point and re-added it with "mklink" like so Then, I did a "gpupdate /force" to force a Group Policy Update. Then went to check the logs again... BAM! I still got it... Hope this helps. I found many "me too" people with issues, and many different forums suggesting many different fixes. I thought I would add my own fix to the mix. Woah, that rhymed. G'nite. An example of Our approach Comments: Anonymous We got this on a virtualized domain controller. It came along with event id 1058. The vmware tools were up-to-date. Replacement of the flexible network card with a e1000 nic (reboot, reconfigure network TCP/IP settings, reboot) solved the problem. x 107 Thurb These errors were logged alongside event 1006. event id 1030 They were simply there because the user had a suspended session on ther server, and the user had changed their password since logging on to that server. To fix just logout of that session or login and update your credentials by locking and unlocking the computer. x 100 Anonymous I haven't given it quite enough time yet, but I may have resolved this by removing some invalid "(same as parent folder)" DNS A records in dnsmgmt under domain, domain\_msdcs\gc, domain\DomainDNSZones, and domain\ForestDNSZones. I tried accessing the GPO in the error by going to \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies\{GPO} and was unable to accessthe first time although I could access \\server\sysvol\domain\policies for each of the servers. Running nslookup showed me the extra invalid record for the domain. No other solutions in here had worked yet. This event is also appearing with error 1058 from Userenv. Intermittently, gpupdate was working and logging event 1704 from SceCli showing it was working. x 90 Anonymous I work for a school district with over 3000+ computers. These errors showed up on (3) computers randomly (2 were older Dell machines and the other was just built from scratch and updated to WinXP SP3). Drill down to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa3. In the right pane locate thedisabledomaincreds key4. Change the disabledomaincreds value to 1 to stop store domain credentials.

A great tip. 2. I used it with "netsh winsock reset" and the combination of both solved my errors on the station. Reply Joe Lefort says: February 26, 2007 at 9:43 pm Thanks for the fix. Had a customer machine pick up the error 1030 a couple days ago. Worked like a charm. Reply G3 says: March 4, 2007 at 6:02 am this worked for me too, i had it on about 30 stations. Reply Richard Blanco says: April 1, 2007 at 11:42 pm Kevin or G3: Any way to push this out system wide? I have about 2o or so stations that have been exhibiting this issue. This is a clean network with new SBS R2 install that was made several weeks back. Ever since I turned on WSUS, this error and others have been showing up in workstation event logs. Any help would be appreciated. Reply Richard Blanco says: April 1, 2007 at 11:48 pm I was also wondering if this affects the storing of credentials for those using laptops that may not be on the domain and they need to "logon" so that they can work "disconnected"????
