Now Windows 2008 domain network. Have XP pc getting this message in the event viewer - plus not getting group policy applied. The name "XXXXXXX :1d" could not be registered on the interface with https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/114275-event-id-4321-netbt ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The machine with the ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx did not allow the name https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27873516/Event-ID-4321-NETBT.html to be clamed by this machine. What i've done already - changed the machine name, made the ip static, ran gpupdate /force and looked for a machine with the same name on the network. None of these have produced any positive results. Thinking of removing pc from domain, changing the computer name, changing the ip address then re-adding back to event id the domain. Think this is a was of time. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. 0 event id 4321 Poblano OP Rich4092 Oct 13, 2010 at 1:05 UTC Yeah, had read thru this. Got idea of removing from domain and rejoining - seems strange if this would fix. 0 Ghost Chili OP TimJ42 Oct 13, 2010 at 4:02 UTC If DNS, DCHP and WINS (if you use it) all look good for the problem PC, I'd try remove and rejoin the domain. Maybe even a remove, rename, rejoin. 0 Poblano OP Best Answer Rich4092 Oct 20, 2010 at 10:28 UTC Have brought pc up-to-date with ms updates short of ms office. Waiting to see if machine gets these updates. If not, guess i'll rename, rejoin, and change ip address. 0 Poblano OP Rich4092 Oct 21, 2010 at 11:44 UTC Bringing the pc up-to-date seemed to get rid of the NetBT. So this problem has seemed to go away. 0 This discussion has been inactive for over a year. You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion.
