Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Windows+Operating+System&ProdVer=5.2&EvtID=1704&EvtSrc=SceCli eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more... Comments: EventID.Net This events is recorded after each succesful refresh of a Windows 2000 security policy. It can also be generated at regular intervals, depending on the settings of the Security Policy Refresh (for example, on the operational master domain controller, the default refresh interval is 5 minutes). The Group Policy Refresh interval can be set by accessing the "computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Group" node in the group policy. A stand-alone server is updated every approx. 17 hours. The security policy update can be initiated manually using the commands: secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy or secedit /refreshpolicy user_policy depending on what part of the security policy you want to update. The policies are automatically applied at startup (the machine policy) or when during the user logon (user policy). x 8 EventID.Net See ME234237, ME250874, ME324800 and ME887442 for specific situations in which this ev

Message as follows: Security policy in the Group policy objects are applied successfully. EventID 1704. How do I get this message to post regularly to the Application Event Viewer? For the past few days, I have been unable to successfully run a Full System Virus Scan using Norton Anti-Virus 2004. Also, Autodesk Inventor R7 will lock up without warning. It would appear that if EventID 1704 is not posted, both applications will lock up without warning. I did notice today that the event DID post, and I was able to do a complete Virus Scan without locking up. I'm guessing that the errors I've just mentioned are causing my comput
