I have just found these events repeating in the logs: ESE Event ID 510 Information Store (3676) Mailbox Database: A request to write to the file "D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Mailbox Database\E00.log" at offset 205312 (0x0000000000032200) for 50176 (0x0000c400) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (31 seconds) to be serviced by the OS. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem. Event 218 ExchangeStoreDB: At '29/03/2012 12:03:37' the copy of database 'Mailbox Database' on this server experienced a performance problem. Failover returned the following error: "There is only one copy of this mailbox database (Mailbox Database). Automatic recovery is not available.". For more detail about the failure, consult the Event log on the server for other storage and "ExchangeStoreDb" events. I have run the DELL Online Diagnostics on the Storage Controller & Arrays and all tests passed OK. Does anybody have any ideas?Ada

I'm confused about it saying it might be a hardware problem as this server is virtual and I'm not seeing any issues on any of the other VMs. Thoughts? And be aware that in a VM environment, it isn't necessarily Exchange that is beating the carp out of the disk subsystem. Regards, Michael B. Just because they're virtual doesn't mean they don't have virtual hardware to monitor :) But... watch the performance counters for your D: drive. Just opening the EMC > Toolbox and doing it from there will give you a decent set to look at. ese 510 error From: bounce-9361224-8066...@lyris.sunbelt-software.com [mailto:bounce-9361224-8066...@lyris.sunbelt-software.com] On Behalf Of Alice Goodman Sent: 23 June 2011 21:14 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: ESE Errors 508 and 510 on Virtual CAS/HUBs I am getting these errors on my combined CAS/HUBs for Exchange 2010 SP1 RU3. They are on VMWare virtuals so I am puzzled how this error can be occurring. The Hardware folks are telling me to ignore them. Thoughts?
