Jul 27, 2010 #2 ORANUM TS Rookie Topic Starter only once... do you think that my ram causes the bsod ? Jul 27, 2010 #3 Route44 TechSpot Ambassador Posts: 11,966 +70 The rule for memtest is a minimum of 7 Passes and more is very beneficial. Most people think that it just keeps repeating the same tests over and over but this is not the case at all. It throws patterns after patterns and sometimes it takes longer than 7 to reach and error. Your minidumps gave nothing specific but all four error codes are the same 0x8E and these are almost always caused by hardware and are one of the stronger indicators of corrupted memory. I suggest starting Memtest 2 to 3 hours before going to bed and let it run all night. This quite safe to do so. Then when you get up check it.
