From My Forums Answered by: HAL Error Windows 7 IT shutdown signature missing in bitmap file Pro > Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility Question 0 Sign in to vote Hi can someone event id 12 hyper v netvsc shed some light on the following System Log entry... HAL Error:"The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition. Please check for https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2028443 updated firmware for your system"Log Name: SystemSource: HALEvent ID: 12Level: Error Thursday, February 05, 2009 11:04 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Still, I'd suggest doing so.The system is, apparently, having an issue going into (or out of) S3. Windows has flagged the BIOS as https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/c05069ca-bac4-4650-98b8-42c7f5d38a7d/hal-error?forum=w7itprohardware being the cause of that issue. Therefore, the logical next step is to update the BIOS (if an update is available.)It's really not nearly as scary as it once was - the Winflash utility that most mobo vendors use is fairly bulletproof.Gigabyte's Q-Flash utility (they don't use Winflash) is just as good, especially since any of their boards built in the last few years have a redundant BIOS chip.[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. I noticed a problem with the memory timings being event id reported in CPU-Z. The CAS# Latency is showing up as 4.0 clocks - when it should be showing up as 9.0. After doing some digging, I found an error message being reported in Computer Management - in the System Log. I believe this error occurs when the computer either goes into or wakes up from sleep or hibernate. Any event id 12 thoughts on how to fix this? I'm running Windows 7 RC x64. I have XMP turned on. And I upgraded the board BIOS to F4g hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't.
