The AD topology is simple: Hub site and 10 Branch sites. I have one connection object between Branch "A" DC and Hub DC in Active Directory Sites and Services. Does it mean that Branch "A" DC has only one replication partner? If so, why do I see replication error ID 1864 on the Branch "A" DC related to domain controllers in other sites? Only one partition error is shown here, while I'm getting the same error for Configuration, Schema and DomainDnsZones also. active-directory replication share|improve this question asked Jun 4 '15 at 13:54 Vadym Rybitskyy 35 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted By default AD ( specificify the KCC and ISTG) assume that the network is fully routed and ALL sites have IP connectivity (ping, RPC, etc) to all other sites. If even one site does not have connectivity to all others then Bridge All Site Links (BASL) must be disabled and individual site links must be added and configured for each site to site link. This would be be case in hub and spoke

Current setup is one single domain with 15 sites (and growing). Each site have 2 DCs + DNS. One DC at one site start having replication error event id 1864. How do I fix this? You found 1864 but is there any other message before that in the same log or in another log that inidcates that you have problem with replication. Have you tried REPLMON to try a manual replication and when you did did you check that you want replication across boundaries. 0 Message Author Comment by:thopham2005-02-04 This is what the event viewer log said: Source NTDS Replication Category Replication Event ID 1864 User NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON This is the replication status for the following directory

What would cause this? Replication does seem to work ok, since i created a test user and it ended up on the other DC, I deleted it, it was then deleted on the other DC. These are the errors we are getting: Code: Event Type: Error Event Source: NTDS Replication Event Category: Replication Event ID: 1864 Date: 2/15/2010 Time: 3:12:56 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON Computer: TDHDC1 Description: This is the replication status for the following directory partition on the local domain controller. It may miss password changes and be unable to authenticate. A DC that has not replicated in a tombstone lifetime may have missed the deletion of some objects, and may be automatically blocked from future replication until it is reconciled. To identify the domain controllers by name, install the support tools included on the installation CD and run dcdiag.exe. You can also use the support tool repadmin.exe to display the replication latencies of the domain controllers in the forest. The command is "repadmin /showvector /latency
