Also check the local group policy (gpedit.msc). If one is configuring this, try setting to "Not Configured" as see if the issue goes away. Otherwise it would look like the security extension is having problems. issue that the WSUS Update was failed due to unknown host URL spesifyed In the GPO windows update location . After reset the record it will comes up automatically with in 10 Second. I have check All the domain GPO's and no such configuration found for "specify windows Update location " . when I check through rsop.msc than I found the "specify windows update location GPO is set as a local GPO but rest of the settings are applied by the Domain policy's. Now I need to find the reason why this GPO enforced in all domain system by Local Policy . and also suggest how to fix this permanently. March 30th, 2015 5:39am > when I check through rsop.msc than I found the "specify windows update > location GPO is set as a local GPO but rest of the settings are applied "Local GPO" means "gpedit.msc" on the local computer. This creates a registry.pol file in %windir%\grouppolicy\machine, and this file is applied afterwards. To get rid of all local gpo settings, simply delete the folder %windir%\GroupPolicy. How this local GPO was created? No idea - might be a leftover from an imaged system?
