Solved Can't apply SP3(kb955706) to Windows Internal Database or SQL Server 2005 Express Posted on 2009-06-12 Windows Server 2008 MS SQL Server 1 Verified Solution 18 Comments 10,105 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-31 I've had kb955706 showing up in my Windows Update for some time now, for both the Windows Internal Database and SQL Server Express. event id 10005 The server in question is Windows 2008 x64 Standard server (SP2), runninng WSS 3.0 with MS Search Server Express. Everytime I try to apply the updates, it shows as failed with error code 643 for Windows Internal Database and 65B for SQL Server Express. Also, after I attempt the update, the search server goes offline (but not WSS), and I see a number of different errors in the event log with something in them that says something similar to: "A runtime exception was detected. Details follow. Message: Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Reason: Server is in single user mode. Only one administrator can connect at this time." I also see this error on install: Log Name: Application Source: MsiInstaller Date: 11/06/2009 11:01:38 PM Event ID: 10005 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: Domain\administrator Computer: server.domain.ca Description: Product: Windows Intern
