Windows 2003 Enterprise https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/925104 servers having problems after installing Hotfix Rollup 6 Started by Anders Topland , 19 May 2010 - 09:16 AM Login to Reply Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 52 replies to this topic Anders Topland Members #1 Anders Topland 7 posts Posted 19 May 2010 - 09:16 AM Hi We have a farm consisting of servers mostly with Windows Server 2003 Standard. http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/265192-windows-2003-enterprise-servers-having-problems-after-installing-hotfix-rollup-6/ But we have two servers running 2003 Enterprise. After upgrading the PS - farm with Hotfix Rollup 6 (the servers were running HR2 prior to the upgrade), these two Enterprise servers seems to run in to trouble every 14. days. The users gets disconnected, and the servers act slow, and the only solution to the problem is to restart the servers. The problem occurs for both servers at the same time with a interval of 14. days. The error message beneath seems to be part of the problem, and is recorded multiple times in the event log before the servers are restarted. The servers running Windows Server 2003 Standard does not having the problem. By the way, we are running Platinum Ed of PS 4.5. Your Windows Server 2003 System event id event log reports many 'PerfOS event ID: 2001 - Unable to get interrupt information from system' errors? Nov 5, 2006 Jerold Schulman | Windows IT Pro EMAIL Tweet Comments 0 Advertisement When your Windows Server 2003 has more than 32 processors, the System event log reports many: PerfOS event ID: 2001 - "Unable to get interrupt information from system." This behavior will occur if any 32-bit application uses the NtQuerySystemInformation function event id 2001 to determine the number of available processors. Because there are more than 32 processors available, the PerOS event is logged each time that the NtQuerySystemInformation function is used. This behavior has been corrected and will be available in Windows Server 2003 SP2 (Service SP2ack 2), by setting the LogErrorToFile Value Name to 0: 1. Open a CMD.exe window. 2. Type the following command and press Enter: reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfOS\Performance /V LogErrorToFile /T REG_DWORD /F /D 0 Print reprints Favorite EMAIL Tweet Please Log In or Register to post comments. Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more...
