I can log into the web based apple store, but not the iTunes one or anything else. I'm on hold with tech support at the moment to see if anything can be done. I'll post another reply if I learn anything.I have seen a few posts reporting that it's a problem on their end, so this might very well be the case. As well, it keeps telling me I have been inputting my password incorrectly "several times" and ordering me to retrieve it before I can continue. This is after starting iTunes for the first time in days and before I even attempted to do anything.I have already reset my password 3 times tonight..... And still cannot do anything. The https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5634204?tstart=0 error was: FATAL::Unable to process your request. Please try again. I had never encountered that error message until then, and I chalked it up to the random iOS 7 problem. After rebooting my phone and logging out of my Apple ID account via Settings > iTunes & App Store, I was met with the same exact error message. Even when trying on another device the error message persisted. I decided to go to bed, hoping that everything would be okay in the morning. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/12/05/fatal-app-store-error-preventing-purchases-on-ios-and-mac/ Well, I just tried to download an app again, and was met with the same exact error message. I thought to myself, "Okay, perhaps this is an iOS 7 issue since I had only tried it on iOS 7 enabled devices up to that point." Nope. After trying it on my iPod touch, which is still running iOS 6, I was met with the exact same FATAL error message. In fact, I was met with the same error on my Mac when attempting to download from the Mac App Store. So what gives? Apple's System Status page is showing everything is okay, but that's obviously not the case… From the looks of it, this is an issue that many Apple users are experiencing. There's a thread on Apple's support forums that is six pages long with not a fix in sight. The thread was started on December 4th, which is approximately the time when my issues began to occur. And that's not the only thread. There's this thread, and this one, and oh, this one. This looks to be a much more widespread issue than I initially imagined. So the question is: are you experiencing this FATAL error message? Have you been able to fix it? Share your experiences in the comment section. So far I've been able to confirm the following about this issue: It's happening on the Mac & iOS. It's basically happening anywhere that requires you to login with an Apple ID. This i

Error 53 fatal error roughly translates to "Your phone has been bricked, TTYL!" ( Kārlis Dambrāns | Flickr ) Advertisement For those who haven't been letting Apple care for their smartphones, the latest version of iOS 9 could prove fatal for their handsets. Error 53 is a serial iPhone killer. Even if it happened months ago, a repair by a third-party technician can leave an iPhone susceptible to the apple application support phone-bricking devastation of Error 53. And it's not just repairs. Even phones that have been damaged and are being used with repairs are at risk of being turned into paperweights. It all has to do with the iPhone's Touch ID fingerprint scanner. If it has suffered any damage, it'll require repairs from a certified Apple technician. The error is generated by security checks designed to protect its customers, according to Apple. The security inspection attempts to confirm if an iPhone's fingerprint scanner matches up with the other components in the handset, stated iFixit's Kyle Wiens. "The problem occurs if the repairer changes the home button or the cable," Wiens said."Following the software upgrade the phone, in effect, checks to make sure it is still using the original components, and if it isn't, it simply locks out the phone. There is no warning, and there's no way that I know of to bring it back to life." Apple is serious about customer security, the company said in a prepared statement. When the security check can't verify that the original fingerprint sensor is installed, it disables Touch ID, Apple stated. "This security measure is necessary to protec
