Posted by david.j.wood on 6 Jul 2008 20:05 You have a hardware failure a bus fatal error was detected on a component at bus 0 device 0 function 0. - most likely CPU 1, though the fault could be elsewhere (motherboard, perhaps). The Hardware Owners Manual says that this error occurs when the specified CPU (CPU 1 in your case) reports an internal error. If you have a hardware warranty, call Dell in the morning. If you don't have a hardware warranty, then you are on your own. If this is a single CPU machine, you will have to try to could try to obtain a replacement CPU, which will be much easier with it being a single CPU machine, as you won't be trying to match the specification of an existing CPU. However, you must keep to the processor compatibility of your machine - the 5400 series processors only work in 2900 III machines, and 5300 series processors only work in 2900 II and III machines. I believe support for the older processors was dropped in the newer machines. If this is a dual CPU machine, you could remove and store CPU 1 and move CPU 2 to the CPU 1 socket to see if the machine will now boot. Like 0 Reply You have posted

This erroris a signal that indicates a processor unrecoverable error or even a non-CPU event, such as a system BUS interruption or http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000006043.html a memory can start this signal. On the Intel Server Boards listed at the bottom of this page, a Processor IERR can be confirmed or discarded from the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) Setup Utility under Advanced > Processor Configuration > CPU Retest. The IERR Filtering Algorithm helps to determine if the IERR signal came from a false CPU internal error or from another hardware source. This filtering algorithm helps youpreventunnecessary processor replacements. At the same time, thisalgorithmhelps you to isolate IERR events. If the IERR returns after the CPU Retest, the IERR signal most likely came from the CPU itself. If you have more than one processor installed, check the System Event Log (SEL) to find out which processor is generating the IERR.In some cases a system restart can also eliminate an IERR. However,if the problem persists: Try to boot up the system with one processor at the time Test another processor if possible. Remove and reinstall the memory.

Join Now I have two PE1950 ii's that are tossing CPU errors. (I just got my hands on them, didn't know they existed before today) One has been doing this one since February fatal error Critical System Boot CPU1 Status: processor sensor for CPU1, IERR was asserted OK System Boot CPU1 Status: processor sensor for CPU1, IERR was deasserted The other one got this once in June.. Non-Recoverable 06/13/2013 15:13:50 CPU 1 machine check detected. BOTH SYSTEMS BOOT NORMALLY. I'm not seeing these codes on the display or on bootup, I'm finding them in the DRAC logs. That e1410 system fatal being said, they were sent to me because someone said they saw them and couldn't get the machines to boot. What is typically done in these cases? I know the ideal thing would be to replace the machines. That is not possible. I can, however, replace the motherboards and CPU's if needed. Maybe you have it in Mirror mode, and it needs to be in optimized mode. Just going off of this posting with someone having the same errors. Doing a quick search for that error brings up many others having the same issue. Look through these and see if they were able to resolve them. 1 Thai Pepper OP Dukat Oct 2, 2013 at 6:44 UTC Power Users wrote: Check your memory configurations.
