page. That indicates that Drupal needed more memory than PHP was allowed to give it. Where is my php.ini file in Drupal to see fatal error allowed memory size of bytes exhausted my memory limit? - Every system is different. To see your php configuration, create a new php file in your sites root directory and name it "myinfo.php". Inside this newly created blank php file, simply type then browse to that file in your web browser by going to http://yoursite.com/myinfo.php Now you can see where the original php.ini file is as well as other information about your config such as memory_limit.Drupal 7 For SHARED HOSTING - complete the steps below, creating a php.ini file and putting it in the Drupal root. Copy the entire contents of the original php.ini file and paste them into the new php.ini file you've made in your Drupal

root. Now change the memory_limit directive to say 128M. How to make a shared server refresh and use this new php file - Go to your host and open your cpanel account. Now look for a section that says "PHP Processes"...Open this section, and click "Kill Processes". This will refresh apache and pick up your new php.ini file on a shared hosting account. Memory increase to 128M: (This has worked every-time; and used to always work for D6 as well) Create a new file php.ini, and add the code...php_value memory_limit = "128M" and put that file in your Drupal 7 (or D6) root folder. For step-by-step details, see comment below...Drupal 7 "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of ...". If you need more than 128M: Add the lineini_set('memory_limit', '512M'); to your [Drupal 7 root]/sites/default/settings.php file. I have yet to need this much memory, but I did achieve a memory increase to 512M using this slightly more complicated process that involved temporarily changing the permission level for that file. For step-by-step details see the comment below Drupal 7 memory increase to more than 128M. End Drupal 7 =================== Increase PHP memory limit Increase PHP's memory limit, e.g. to increase it to 32M you could try adding: memory_limit = 32M to your server's main php.ini file (recommended, if you have access) memory_limit = 32M to a php.ini file in the

limit to 128M which should be more then enough according to the information I found on the internet. I'm using the views and Drupal for Firebug module. When I disable the Drupal for Firebug module the error https://www.drupal.org/node/76156 disappears. Since I'm using the latest version of Drupal for Firebug v1.3 and I don't find any information about memory issues when using the Drupal for Firebug module I would like to know if the error can be caused by the custom theme I'm using ? The template page.tpl.php includes "print $closure" as required for the Drupal for Firebug module. However you quick fix idea worked and after disabling the firebug module I am not getting this error anymore and can easily clear cache. But is there any fix since I might need to enable the firebug module for testing purpose. Increasing memory is not a option right now, but I am keeping my options open. Any advice would be great. :D maxo Log in or register to post comments solved drupal_rocker commented May 14, 20

Occassionally you may run out of memory when trying to enable a module or some other feature. If this happens, you'll probably see a message similar to the following Fatal error: Allowed memory size of # bytes exhausted (tried fatal error to allocate # bytes) in includes/database.mysqli.inc To fix this problem, I opened my sites/default/settings.php and added the following php ini setting: ini_set('memory_limit', '128M'); It's a good idea to add this setting next to other similar ini_set() calls in settings.php, keeps things organized.I have heard of possible alternate solutions:Open your php.ini file, go to fatal error allowed the 'resource limits' section, and add this line: memory_limit = 128M;Open your .htaccess file, go to the
