One night after routine updates of a few modules the error started appearing. Even when I downgraded those modules it was too late. The damage was done. HERE IS THE CATCH. The error appears after allocating no more than https://www.drupal.org/node/463234 41156608 bytes (~40M) in EVERY case, sometimes less. This is FAR below the memory limit, which my host - HostGator, has now upped to 512M in an effort to problem solve. They have overridden the set server limits in my case in an attempt to eliminate causes. Also it doesn't just happen when accessing information from one specific module or module table. I've seen this error attached to: 1. .../sites/all/modules/simplenews/simplenews.admin.inc on line 1190 2. .../sites/all/modules/ubercart/uc_cart/uc_cart.pages.inc on line 190 3. .../includes/theme.inc on line 758 4. .../includes/database.mysql.inc on line 301 5. .../sites/all/modules/views/includes/admin.inc on line 2707 Since the error first occurred, I've upgraded to Drupal 6.11 (in hopes of overwriting any bugs) and I've completely removed some modules using Filezilla and taken many more offline directly through the database System table with no effect. I consistently rerun update.php throughout these changes. So the number of active modules is much less than before the error started to occur. My host is trying everything but has commented, "...The issue is not that you're hitting the PHP limit, or even the apache limit. You don't appear to be. I honestly think you're hitting the MySQL serve

Over the last two weeks my site has been down (with errors like this) the same amount of time it has been up. Last night I even received notification from Google that the site seems to be down (not accessible) a lot. I have about 12 drupal sites and the one that actually fatal error has a fair amount of traffic (500 page loads per day) is the only one that continues to get errors. Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 30146560) (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/nash/public_html/modules/taxonomy/taxonomy.module on line 1693 It is currently hosted with Rochen Shared account they claim their servers are configured for drupal but after getting this error they told me:The error represents php fatal error that your that PHP process is attempting to use more memory allowed per process. You may need to consult with your developer to review the script installed on this domain in question to check whether any components/module is not misconfiguration. Thanks! So I asked what the memory allowed per process is and they sent me to read their acceptable use policy: Prohibited Resource Use Policy Users may not: Run any process that requires more than 128MB of memory space or uses more than 30 CPU seconds. This limitation does not apply to Managed Virtual Server (MVS) or Managed Server accounts. Consume more than an average of 2% of overall server resources over a 24 hour period. E.g. -- Consuming more than 30 minutes of CPU time would exceed 2% CPU usage over a 24 hour period. This limitation does not apply to Managed Virtual Server (MVS) or Managed Server accounts. Not really the answer I was looking for - can someone point me into the direction of what is causing the error? Do I need to change host? Log in or register to post comments ⋅ Categ
