Get this error message while computer is booting up and then I'm forced shut down or reboot. Apparently this is a common error when trying to install Windows 7 SP1 simultaneously along with other updates. Tried doing a Google search but found no concrete solutions. Anyone wanna help me out here? TheMaster52, Sep 12, 2011 Chevalier_Schiff . You have to free up some space (around 3-4 GB) for the installation to continue To check the space available on C, you have to go to advanced option. Since the bootup failed the windows will automatically try to repair (which fails). You will be presented with two options Restart/Shutdown and Advanced Options Select Advanced Options Click on Troubleshoot Again select Advanced Options Slect Command Prompt Login with your credentials if prompted and type notepad.exe This will open up the notepad application, use File -> Open In explorer go to My Computer and check the free space in C Free up the space as needed by deleting/moving files from C Drive In case you can't delete or free up some space, try to reduce the page file or disable hibernation powercfg.exe /hibernate off share|improve this answer answered Dec 22 '14 at 6:32 Vishnu Prasad Kallummel 24429 add a comment| You must log in to answer this question. That seems to be the only remedy available to you right now. Boot up your computer with a Windows 7 disc. Wait until you see some installation options, look for "Repair My Computer" or something like that. Click it and you will get to the repair options. Choose system restore. I am hoping your system restore was active while you have been using the computer and that you have a restore point prior to the incident that caused the system failure. Look for and select the most recent restore point (prior to the Windows update that caused the problem). Let the system restore run and hopefully you will be returned to a point before the faulty update. Let me know how it goe
