Specs: Intel Celeron 1.2Ghz 256MB Memory 30GB HD XP Pro AGP Shared video memory (UMA) It will not boot at all. When power is turned on it goes to a screen which specifies that a specific file is missing and must be repaired. It suggests inserting an XP disc to restore the file. However, I have tried using an XP disc and it only cycles back through this process and never initiates repair. The message is as follows: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair. Is it possible the HD is shot? Here is a full spec list: http://www.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-1400-s151/4507-3121_7-20040091.html Thanks!
