This forced all of the pages to be moved, which appears to have corrected the problem. This would indicate it was a page corruption that the DBCC CHECKDB didn't catch. share|improve this answer answered Sep 30 '08 at 20:37 user9930 15618 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. So I ran DBCC CHECKDB and it came back http://computerfixerphiladelphia.com/windows-sql-server-fatal-error-7987.php with the following error messages: Msg 8928, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Object ID 945288964, index ID 0: Page (1:1713) could not be processed. See other errors fatal error for details. Msg 8944, Level 16, State 4, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 945288964, index ID 0, page (1:1713), row 43. Test (offsetNull >= BASEOFFSET) failed. Values are 0 and 4. That particular table does not have an index id 0. I did a select * from sysindexes where id = 945288964 and it does show fatal error 7987 index id 0. I searched the error message and found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828337?wa=wsignin1.0 It says "If the DBCC CHECKDB Transact-SQL command reports errors that indicate database inconsistencies, resolve the errors." but no mention of how to fix the error. I did more searches and it seems like restoring database was the recommended method. Just wondering if the forum gurus have a better suggestions other than restoring database.
