This error is usually caused by a problem with the map(game level) you are in. It could be that the map itself has a design problem or that the map has become corrupted. If this is a custom map, contact the author or download a newer version of the map. Problem with Steam? Bad Surface Extents 864/0 at position (2001,-864,-120) Started by slimthemvp , May 16 2007 05:51 PM Please log in to reply 5 replies to this topic #1 slimthemvp slimthemvp New Member Members 4 posts Posted 16 May 2007 - 05:51 PM Okay here's my issue, When I installed Counterstrike Condition Zero (which I purchased), it installed fine. I did the install from the cd and it installed the steam engine which is the basis of this game. Anyway the STEAM engine loads and operates fine, however when I actually go to enter and play one the games https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5816-QSDX-2514 (either counter strike or Condition Zero) the User Interfaces loads fine and allows me to select game type from the main menu. hen I chose, "Start New Game", it loads and then crashes about 1/3 of the way throught the loading process and gives me the following error. "Bad Surface extents 864/0 at Position (2001,-864,-120)" - Now these numbers change every time it crashes. Could this be a bad Hard Drive? I have ran CHKDSK from the https://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/141518-bad-surface-extents-8640-at-position-2001-864-120/ CMD menu as well as ScanDisk from the Windows menu. It did find one file with bad segments and repaired them. However this did not seem to fix this problm with running CounterStrike. This does not happen with any other programs. (Firefox, Win Media PLayer, DIVX) Also when running the Online Counterstrike engine it gives me the following error: "model has changed or been modified since the engine started, please run diagnostics for faulty hardware" Is there anything I can do to fix this or should i Just get a new drive? 2nd problem - Periodically the CPU will crash and flash with a blue screen reading something to the extent of "Dumping Kernel Memory". Not too sure on the exact wording cause it flashes so quick and then the CPU reboots itself. Could this be a bad Video card or possibly bad or mismatched memory. I do have 768. and i dont believe the chips were bought to gether. I beleive i purchased one later on. I am having performance problems with the CPU, and its getting frustrating. I would really appreciate some expertise! Thanks, Slim Back to top #2 mme mme HOMELAND SECURITY.
