Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() up vote 0 down vote favorite I am new to wordpress, I am trying to install a new plugin by uploading it to theme via my FTP program. when I do that and when I try to activate that theme in the wordpress i get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() I have seen few fixes fatal error call to undefined function get_header() in php such as rename it inside the theme folder among some other fixes none of them really help me, what can I do to get this problem fixed? N Feb 5 at 12:41 WordPress always recommend to update version whenever available, if you are facing trouble with that, first solve that, above issue will be solved automatically. –Milap Feb 5 at 12:59 @Milap well the hing is that I tried to solve that, I couldnt find a fix i google it it was a bout the timeout problem which didnt help in my case. SO I am not sure what is the cause of that, i got that error while trying to install new plugin, then I did it manually thorugh FTP program. now when I wnt to install new theme i see this error.

wp_get_theme() dwight89 Member May 14, 2014, 2:51 PM Hey guys PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() So, I'm interning for a guy who Does IT consulting, but on the side he has a few domains registered to his name. http://www.sportingauthority.com being one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35224064/fatal-error-call-to-undefined-function-wp-get-theme of them, went to make some modifications and play around with some plug-ins, and the dreaded White screen and this evil Line comes up: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in C:\Virtual Directories\Sporting Authority\wp-content\themes\blackbird\functions\theme-options.php on line 8 Now, I've spent the better part of 3 hours today and well over 5 yesterday trying to https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/php-fatal-error-call-to-undefined-function-wp_get_theme figure out just what the heck's going on... Seems simple, Plug-in error. So, I need to access his hosting FTP server, find the plug-in and disable it, or remove it... My Question, is how the heck do i do that.. I got Firezilla, and tried to log in with what I found from http://www.whoishostingthis.com and everything has been a fail. Now, my Boss is at home sick, and not answering his emails. So is there a way to get into this without him? I cant even enter the http://www.sportingauthority.com/wp-login.php and log in with my credentials.... Soo.. WHAT DO I DOOOOOO?!?!?!?!?!?!? Upgrading to the latest version of WordPress should fix this error. Thank you!
