Fatal Error Configuration Manager Setup Cannot Continue Because Following Error
a Windows 2003 member server. I keep getting the following message: Configuration manager setup cannot continue because of the following error: Setup Encountered fatal errors while preforming file operations. So far, all that I have been able to find is the SQL error message fix but this is a different message and I don't think that my issue is SQL. Any thoughts? Thanks April 12th, 2011 8:26pm Not a terribly useful thought, but a thought: have you run the pre-requisite checker? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb681060.aspx fyi, CM07 is up to SP2. Thanks April 12th, 2011 8:55pm you can download the files from another computer by using setup.exe /download. Why are you trying to install SP1 and not SP2?Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now April 12th, 2011 9:00pm I was learning the program using 'Train Signal' videos. They were using SP1. I was not aware of SP2. April 12th, 2011 9:34pm Hi, Please check if the source files were corrupt. If not, please check if you have installed the latest version of Windows Update Agent. If there are any errors in the ConfigMgrSetup.log, you may post some for further research. following:Fatal errorConfiguration Manager cannot continue because of the following error: Setup could not install the required component, VC Redistributable ConfigMgr installation cannot be completed. After looking at the blog , I looked at the http://windowssystemsadmin.blogspot.com/2012/02/vc-redistributable-configmgr.html SCCM setup log.My problem resulted in the fact that the vcredist_x86.exe file was already in the temp folder and would not overwrite it. I renamed/deleted the file in the temp folder and "viola", the SP2 upgrade ran without errors.Advice: check the log, and clear out your temp directories. Hope this helps.
