It looks like qmake wasn't able to find it. The only thing I've had to do is to add -I/usr/include/db4.8 at the end of the INCPATH in the Makefile generated by qmake. Hope this helps someone else. After installing the dependencies in the README plus the required netpbm, graphviz, libtool and automake (not listed in the README), I type make auto. This seems to work fine until we get to the tests. no such file I'm just now going through your 21st Century C book and it's been a long time since I coded in C, so forgive me if this is a no brainer.
