Java Runtime Environment Cannot Be Loaded From Jvm.dll Windows 7
NT4 box at work so I can program during my freetime (by accident, meant to install J2SE SDK), but of course it hosed up the previous apps running on JRE 1.3.1.02. I have unloaded J2EE, JDK 1.4, and reinstalled SP6A and JRE 1.3.1_02 numerous times, but my application still doesn't work. The certain application seems to need this jvm file but it keeps giving the error message: Java[TM] Plug-in Fatal Error: "The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll> The path is: C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_02\bin\hotspot I tried changing the install directory thinking the wierd directory name 1.3.1_02 was doing it but of course that simple solution didn't work. I don't have administrator access but I have tried loading SP6A and the JRE 1.3 with the admin login . . . Any help would be much appreciated, soon they will ghost my box. . .Thanks - BastOp 0 Question by:BastOp Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 92 Best Solution byobjects i'd uninstall everything, and install J2SE (which includes JRE). SP6 is under add/remove programs which has the name of xp hotfix. Then reinstall your JDK for J2SE( this already includes JRE ). Then try running your program again. It should work :) If it doesnt work check maybe your download JDK is corrupted. Hope it helps . . . Re: The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from <\bin\server\jvm.dll 843802 Nov fatal error 13, 2004 2:35 PM (in response to 843802) You only need to delete that folder once to get rid of the old troublesome configuration settings. Then you can set the runtime parameter again. When you run your applet the JVM will automatically recreate the folder with the correct settings. Mark Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 16. Re: The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from java runtime environment <\bin\server\jvm.dll 843802 Nov 14, 2004 7:40 PM (in response to 843802) Yes your correct Mark, my problem was setting a parameter of -Xmx1024M, whereas it should be Xmx1024. I am having the same or similar problem with 1.5.0. Thank you for the bugid link. Thanks indeed! I just fixed my machine, thanks to the information in this thread, by deleting: C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Trigoboff\Application Data\Sun Thanks to those of you who figured this out. I spent way too much time searching for things like "jvm.dll" in the Windows Registry. I also just added my comment to the bug which (discouragingly) is marked "Closed - not reproducible." I told them they need to work harder! Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 18.
