Java Uninstallation Fatal Error

0 35535 views 05/28/2009 Supporting Windows I've encountered a problem whilst trying to uninstall Java(TM) 6 Update 13... I go into Control Panel\Add/Remove Programs and scroll down to remove Java from my system. I click remove and it comes up with the window consult windows installer help (msi.chm) or msdn for more information "Add or Remove Programs: Are you sure you want to remove Java(TM) 6 Update 13 from add remove programs fatal error during installation your computer". I click yes and it says "Preparing to remove" then configuring java.. and then come up with the window:"Fatal Error During Installation" error 1603 fatal error during installation I've tried enabling logging.. it didn't work.. so that's all the info I can give, I have two HD's mounted.. if that helps.. I don't know. I tried using the install again.. it didn't work believe it or not

Or.. since java's alread written to my registry.. can I use my use the java on my iPod (6 update 13 [OS:Windows]) as my default java? because that may very well fix my problem entirely. I searched my registry and "Java" doesn't exist.. and it's meant to.. but this wednesday I'm buying a scandisk flashdrive with U3 (Aka.. Legendary freaking magic) software on it.. so I'll be able to use java wherever I want.. [8D]. So yeah, tysvm for your help(?) I am trying to uninstall JAVA 6, Update 26. I first deleted the actual program files. But when I went to Add/Remove Programs on my Control Panel, it was still there! I clicked on the Remove button for Java. A Windows Installer box pops up saying "Please wait while Windows configures Java" and then "Fatal Error During Installation". What you see in the control panel are registry entries that link to the now non existend uninstaller. To get rid of those wrong entries i recommend you use CCleaner, which checks your

The first guy because he apparently doesn't know how to install and uninstall programs, the sysadmin team because apparently they have given access with installation rights to one of your servers to someone who shouldn't be able to install programs on it. After that you should remove the uninstall information from the registry; it's located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. Go through the entries until you find one with the right display name, then delete the entire key. Then install the JDK again.
