My code now looks like this: require 'DB.php'; require 'C:\Users\Clayton\Desktop\formhelpers.php'; $db = DB::connect('mysql://root:password@localhost/test'); if (DB::isError($db)) { die("connection error: " . $db->getMessage( )); } $db->setErrorHandling(PEAR_ERROR_DIE); //create table for responses $q = $db->query( "CREATE TABLE apiResponse( Name VARCHAR(20), Occupation VARCHAR(20)"); //select data to send $db = DB::connect('mysql://root:password@localhost/test'); $q = $db->query('SELECT Name, Occupation FROM try2 '); while ($row = $q->fetchRow()) { $Name = $row[0]; $Occupation = $row[1]; $q = $db->query( "INSERT INTO apiResponse (Name, Occupation) values ($Name, $Occupation)" ); Where require 'C:\Users\Desktop\formhelpers.php'; is line 10. I still get a similar error: Warning: require(C:\Users\Desktop\formhelpers.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\xampp\htdocs\myfiles\Testing API Script.php on line 10 Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'C:\Users\Clayton\Desktop\formhelpers.php' (include_path='.;C:\xampp\php\PEAR') in C:\xampp\htdocs\myfiles\Testing API Scrip

[2014-02-10 12:06 UTC] roncemer (Ron Cemer)Instead of a patch, why not release a new version of this package to the PEAR repo? I can tell you that there are probably a TON of people using this package, and if it suddenly break (we're talking ALL kinds of websites) upon PHP upgrade (which happens automatically in many environments), it will be a disaster. An unnecessary disaster, easily prevented by the Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer pushing out a new release with the patch applied. I

Windows users - if you get an error like:
phar "C:\PHP\PEAR\go-pear.phar" does not have a signaturefollowed by an assortment of failed to open stream/non-existant file type of warnings and errors, the problem is with the package hash check. I was able to work around the problem like this:
php.exe -d phar.require_hash=0 go-pear.phar(thanks to www.lenss.nl).
If anyone knows how to properly perform the hash check in

I'm using Dreamweaver F12 to run it. Here are the final lines of the spacious backtrace printout on the browser: [1] => Array ( [file] => C:\xampp\htdocs\_LUecommerce1test\html\index.php [line] => 15 [function] => require ) ) I'm new to this type of programming so I sure hope someone can help me figure it out! Thanks in advance! - GeoffreyETD 0 Back to top #2 Edward Edward Advanced Member Members 1141 posts Posted 25 July 2013 - 10:43 PM If you are using F12 on Dreamweaver you will need to setup a testing server to map the site to the browser. Otherwise you could just run the site webpage directly from the browser by typing in the following: localhost/_LUecommerce1test/html/index.php You need to check that the mysql.inc.php file is in the correct location. It may be better just to move the file into the same directly just to get it working, you could move the mysql.inc.php on the server when you need to make that information more secure. So for now you can move the mysql.inc.php file into _LUecommerce1test/html/ and just change the require statement to require(/C:/xampp/htdocs/_LUecommerce1test/html/mysql.inc.php). Or if you wished to make things simpler just remove the html folder and put all the contents in _Luecommerce1test. 0 Back to top #3 Larry Larry Administrator/Writer Administrators 4522 posts LocationState College, PA (USA) Posted 26 July 2013 - 8:02 AM Also, the e-commerce book does assume complete comfort with PHP and MySQL. If you don't have that, the book may be a bit too challenging for you at this point. 0 Back to top #4 GeoffreyE
