Is there another way to catch these errors?

For example: function format_error( $errno, $errstr, $errfile, $errline ) { $trace = print_r( debug_backtrace( false ), true ); $content = "

a custom error handlerImplementing a custom error handler using set_error_handler() in PHP can be https://insomanic.me.uk/php-trick-catching-fatal-errors-e-error-with-a-custom-error-handler-cea2262697a2 a useful technique (Google search for more info/examples)Unfortunately, http://www.xpertdeveloper.com/2013/01/catch-fatal-errors-in-php/ set_error_handler() doesn’t catch fatal errors — as the PHP docs say:The following error types cannot be handled with a user defined function: E_ERROR, E_PARSE, E_CORE_ERROR, E_CORE_WARNING, E_COMPILE_ERROR, E_COMPILE_WARNING, and most of E_STRICT raised fatal error in the file where set_error_handler() is called.Handily, I just discovered it’s possible to catch fatal E_ERROR errors and direct them to your custom error handler using a combination of register_shutdown_function() and error_get_last():set_error_handler('myErrorHandler');register_shutdown_function('fatalErrorShutdownHandler');function myErrorHandler($code, $message, $file, $line) { ...}function fatalErrorShutdownHandler(){ $last_error php catch fatal = error_get_last(); if ($last_error['type'] === E_ERROR) { // fatal error myErrorHandler(E_ERROR, $last_error['message'], $last_error['file'], $last_error['line']); }}The key is that functions registered with register_shutdown_function() are called even on a fatal error - including out of memory errors. error_get_last() can then be used to detect whether we’re ending the script because of a fatal error, and pass the error info to your custom error handler if so.UncategorizedDevPHPBlockedUnblockFollowFollowingAndy YoungStartups. can’t cache FATAL Error because those are FATAL. This will be useful when you want to show specific well formatted error page rather than PHP Error, when your program ends unexpectedly due to some fatal errors. We will use register_shutdown_function function to catch the fatal errors and format as we need. Keep in mind that register_shutdown_function will gets executed after your script execution ends either it is successful or ends with any error. So before performing any action in this function we need to check if really any fatal occurs or not. If occurs then we will show error page else it will continue to run as it is. So to get the details of the last error we will use error_get_last() function. Code function catch_fatal_error() { // Getting Last Error $last_error = error_get_last(); // Check if Last error is of type FATAL if(isset($last_error['type']) && $last_error['type']==E_ERROR) { // Fatal Error Occurs // Do whatever you want for FATAL Errors } } register_shutdown_function('catch_fatal_error');function catch_fatal_error() { // Getting Last Error $last_error = error_get_last(); // Check if Last error is of type FATAL if(isset($last_error['type']) && $last_error['type']==E_ERROR) { // Fatal Error Occurs // Do whatever you want for FATAL Errors } } register_shutdown_function('catch_fatal_error'); Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Related Posts PHP Error HandlingPHP Error ReportingEnable PHP Error logging using htaccessType Hinting in PHPAbstract in PHP Written by Avinash Avinash Zala is leading various projects which deals with the various technology involved with the web.
